My first personal experience with broken bones and homeopathy was fourteen years ago. My son was eight months old and just learning to walk. Discovering the world from a new eye level. He was pulling himself up on everything, this time on a small three legged art deco table at a friend’s house and it landed on his thumb. As you can imagine, I was freaked! I immediately thought of Arnica and Rescue Remedy. Which at the time, was all I knew might support him in his process.
After the ER, I was referred to a bone specialist, and his prognosis was that a sliver of his growth plate was shaved off and hanging from the bottom of his joint like a little tag. He expected, because he was a child, that although the pain would subside soon, the tag of bone would dissolve over the course of about 6 months (far longer for an adult would heal). He told me to come back in a week.
When I got home, I learned about SYMPHYTUM, which is a homeopathic preparation of Comfrey. I followed the recommendation.
That night, while going to sleep, my son––laying on his back––banged his forearm on the bed several times, It was the weirdest thing. It seemed as though the pain would be to much to do that, but that’s what he did!
When I returned to the specialist a week later, he was amazed! Apparently, the slice of bone had reattached/re-joined the rest of his growth plate! He had apparently followed his own instinct and reset the bone! The Symphytum was a support.
When I was growing up, Susan Weed was growing her knowledge of herbology and it was a method I came to know a little bit about, and I was aware of the nature of Comfrey. But this was not the time for a Comfrey compress. Plus he was so young, homeopathics were the way to go, they are so subtle in their process, children respond very well to subtle remedies. Anyone who feels that homeopathics are placebos, to watch how they work on infants and animals. Two instances where the concept of placebo doesn’t apply.
Symphytum was our best friend.
Since then, I have shared my experience with many of my family and friends have found support. Most recently, a friend who broke her ankle checked in to tell me that she was ahead of the healing schedule.
I encourage you to research further about the blessings of homeopathic remedies, there is so much to learn.
