A writer, seeker and gleaner of the tidbits of wisdom available in the moment, Rachel is a gifted Multi-Platform Life Artist working primarily with Energy Transformation. She is a comedienne, performer, mother and true friend, with a wealth of “First Aid” tips for the Mind Body & Spirit. Although she has immersed herself in many traditions and bodies of work, she chooses not limit herself to any one school, modality, religion or training. Because she is committed to growth and expansion, there will always be something new to share with her. Using methods, tools and perspective that she has applied in her own experience, Rachel offers objective, practical solutions for the transformation and transcendence of stuck energy.
While Rachel has spent her life dedicated to protecting, nurturing and supporting the work of others, and especially the underdog, it is only in the last 10 years that she has made the commitment to use her voice for positive change in the protection of our collective commons. Rachel has set her mind to support current initiatives to that end. Working with strong advocacy groups, she finds herself trusting in the possibility for positive change where she was once a true sceptic. A lot happens when we change our mind!
I grew up in a small town in the Catskills. Where I come from, Witches are magic Healers and Doctors are those who can apply medicine that brings life. The idea that how we were living was somehow, “alternative” or strange to the average person never crossed my mind. Really. Even before my mother and I moved next door to a woman who owned a health food store, we were living a very “alternative lifestyle.”
But when Eve became a part of our lives, I really began to immerse myself in different healing modalities. At 13, I began to work in the health food store, packing bulk nuts and raisins, bagging carrots for people who were going to juice them. We sold crystals, pendulums and metaphysical books and New Age music. Louise Hay, Alice Bailey and Jane Roberts— household names. I spent twelve years there. Loving every minute. I had no idea, really, just how strange our lives were to the average American.
So much entered my mind and heart, and the things that worked to support the body’s healing processes fascinated me. All throughout my childhood, “Get the Arnica!!!” was a common exclamation. Eve always had some on hand. Sometimes it was Hypericum when a door slammed a finger, or Calendula when a tooth went through a lip, Cantharis when a burn gripped skin.
I gained quite a “first aid” understanding of several modalities, never settling on one. Now that I have raised my son to the age of 20, and reach mid-life myself… I am noticing that I have taken for granted, this information, sharing little more than with my family and friends.
Later, I moved to a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery and studied with some of the most revered teachers in the Karma Kagyu Lineage. The Buddha Dharma served as a wonderful place to grow with and after spending my twenties there, I set out to explore even more vehicles for transforming energy. I happened upon Abraham-Hicks and blew my own mind with their ideas and tools. My own evolving philosophy has been graced with the fortune of being able to connect these two philosophies with all of the other places I have Dabbled, and use the tools they provide in my own experience.
When I was about 25, my dear friend Christine said to me, “Boy, when you finally settle in to recognizing that you are a healer, that will be a blessed day.” I remember being really offended by the statement, my ego disallowing me from really hearing her. I just thought to myself, that I knew exactly who I was. Well, I now understand where she was trying to guide my attention.
We are all Healers, because the body functions in such a way that wellness is natural.
We each hold ancient wisdom, which I believe, we carry through countless lifetimes to now.
Each and every one of us has the power to heal––we just don’t always know it. And most importantly, we are perfect specimens of energy and can do a lot for others in helping the body to heal itself.
If we could all recognize our own abilities, we would have less dis-ease on a global level.
I would like to invite you to take a look at your medicine cabinet… Do you feel that it is full of life-giving remedies? Or do you see a lot of Anti-Items? A lot of antidotes… anti inflammatory, anti-perspirant, anti-septic, anti-fungal, and so on…
If I begin to fill my medicine cabinet with life force enhancing items, I might not need so many Anti-Items.
The same goes for my mind. If I fill it with all kinds of antidotes to problems, issues, insurmountable pain… Then I am setting myself up to avoid all kinds of thoughts… We know what happens when we try and avoid thinking thoughts!
I noticed that I have spent so much time playing with energy that I had taken for granted as “just par for the course” what was implementing in my daily life to encourage physical wellness… So I am bringing the two together here on this site!
In recent years, I have been drawn to acknowledge my relationship with different modalities of wellness encouragement and connect it more intently to the work I was doing to learn about energy and the transformation of old patterns and emotional dis-ease.
I have a strong desire to plant a medicinal garden that I can nurture with the excitement of sustained regeneration, and I am having a wonderful time with small, and large, successes and even mishaps, when nurturing the body & mind’s ability to remain well and vibrant!
And so, in an effort to share with my friends and family even more, I have created this site, as a reference. If you happen upon it, please enjoy what you find, share your experiences and keep coming back!
